Inception mapping

Video mapping for inception movie launch in Latin America in the building of Facultad de Derecho, University of Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires.

2010

Audiovisual spectacle created for the launch of the Warner Brothers film, Inception (El Origen in Spanish).

The building was surveyed and reconstructed to generate a 3D adjustment mask.

Subsequently, the content was developed, and the necessary optical adjustments were made, producing an animation and sound design for the event. The production team was able to cover a significant portion of the building's windows to add extra projectable surface.

The animation serves as an audiovisual narrative summarizing the film, functioning as a promotional teaser. The system was set up using a server with 3 video outputs, and the calibration software was built using MaxMsp. The system had a backup that included two Matrox Triple Head units. An editable 2D mesh application was created for each projection output.

Three 10-meter Layher-type towers were employed, using a total of 6 tandem projectors with 15,000 ANSI Lumens for each tower.

The project was comited by Warner Brothers and the project was directed by Enrique Marmora from Estado Lateral Media Lab.
